Join us in this exciting fireside chat featuring a first look at The Long Jazeera, a new film and discussion about universal themes of addiction and mental health in a Pakistani American family.
We'll be joined by writer-director Saleem Nasir Gondal (whose film POST TERM was distributed by Focus Features and selected to screen on JetBlue in-flight entertainment), producer Rabia Sultana (whose films have played at festivals like Sundance, Tribeca and Toronto International Film Festival) and actor Shahjehan Khan (you may have seen him in Succession, Deli Boys, or The Walking Dead).
The Long Jazeera is a character-driven dramedy about a Pakistani-American family reuniting after a mother's cancer diagnosis, a story about identity, healing, and second chances. With its blend of raw comedy and heartfelt drama, the film is poised to destigmatize addiction and promote mental health in South Asian and Muslim families.
