Zia Bhatti Zia Bhatti 

Vice President of Engineering

Zia manages the development of document management systems for the professional services industry at Autonomy.

He began his career at Bell Laboratories in 1984 as a software engineer, developing software for the long distance network components of AT&T. He shifted to the financial markets in 1986 and worked for O’Connor and Associates, a boutique derivatives trading firm, where he helped design and develop in-house proprietary trading systems. He co-founded Software Technologies Group in 1990 and worked on a number of engagements at Ameritech, A.C. Nielson, and other organizations.

In 1992, Zia assumed the role of engineering lead and architect for Project A, the electronic exchange for the Chicago Board of Trade. Project A successfully launched in 1994 and reached a trading volume of billions of dollars within the first year. In the early days of the internet, the success of Project A gave the Chicago Board of Trade a preeminent position among the exchanges of the world.

In 1995, he cofounded iManage and became the Vice President of Engineering. He managed the development of enterprise class, highly scalable and reliable systems that helped iManage become the dominant provider of document management products. iManage was acquired by Interwoven in 2003 and later by Autonomy in 2009.

Zia holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, and before pursuing an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Zia is married with two children and currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Hana-April Chughtai has more than 5 years of experience in entrepreneurship. She founded Unveiled Styling & Events initially as an event production company, but quickly changed the strategic direction of the company when she saw the opportunity for an event management company that encompasses all aspects of event concept, planning, and production. Currently Unveiled Styling & Events is a full scale event and wedding management company with sub divisions in bridal styling, floral, linen rental, design and décor and wedding and event management. Headquartered in Minnesota, Unveiled Styling & Events is in the process of establishing a branch in Chicago, Illinois, with expansion to several more cities by 2011.

Before founding Unveiled Styling & Events, Hana worked in recruiting, corporate training and corporate management. In 2007 she was nominated for the Samuel Louis Parish Award for her work in community service, and the prestigious Pat Paterson Endowed Prize in Leadership at Hamline University.

Hana holds a B.B.A in International Business and a minor in Dance, as well as an MBA in progress with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Hamline University.

 

 

Shiraz 
Malik Shiraz Malik

Shiraz Malik has had a diverse career. He is a current student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He went to Rutgers University and holds degrees in Economics and Information Technology. After school he went to work for Disney as a research analyst, followed up by a creative stint as a researcher and writer for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Several years and roles later, Shiraz found himself back in New Jersey as a partner with a boutique healthcare consulting firm, NonLinear Solutions. Here he helped to expand the business into various markets including pharmaceutical companies and healthcare delivery markets.

Shiraz then made the decision to leave the for-profit world to take on the challenge of leading the Islamic Medical Association of North America, a 40-year old medical association based in Chicago. During his tenure as Executive Director, the organization was extremely successful, raising millions of dollars for various relief efforts, and held conventions in China and Morocco. IMANA also initiated partnerships with various organizations such as the American Medical Association and USAID. In 2007, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin lauded IMANA's work with Resolution 272 praising the organization's work which was unanimously passed. During his time there, IMANA grew to over 4,000 active members worldwide and was featured on CNN, BBC, and various other media outlets. He is also a recipient of the President's Volunteer Service Award.

Shiraz currently lives in Chicago with his wife and son. He is graduating this June from Chicago Booth with concentrations in Finance, Marketing, Strategy and Entrepreneurship.

 

 

Imran SayeedImran Sayeed

Imran Sayeed leads all commercial sector industry, technology consulting and outsourcing practices for Keane, a global BPO and IT Services company with ~14,000 professionals worldwide. Imran came to Keane through its acquisition of netNumina, a boutique technology strategy and consulting form that he founded and grew from a 15 person startup to one of Computerwold’s Top 100 emerging companies and Inc 500’s fastest growing businesses.

Imran has over 18 years of experience in software and services. Previously, as a founder of Open Environment, he grew the company from a 10-person startup to an IPO and leadership in the middleware market.

Imran is currently a Senior Lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Management where he teaches in the MBA program on starting and running software companies. He is also chairman of OPEN, the Organization of Pakistan Entrepreneurs., which has over 3000 executives and entrepreneurs as members and chapters  in 6 cities across the US. Sayeed serves on the Advisory Board of several software and private equity companies. He also holds a patent on technology for providing secure financials transactions over the Internet that he jointly developed with Citigroup.

Imran attended Brown University where he majored in Engineering, and Harvard University, where he did post-graduate work in business, marketing and product development.
